About Us

On June 12, 2023, while on vacation with family, our two-year-old daughter, Norah, slipped out of the house through a door that was thought to be locked and drowned in the backyard pool. Her father, a registered nurse, immediately began CPR while paramedics were called. Though she was able to be revived in the ambulance, her brain went without oxygen for too long, and on June 15, 2023, Norah died, saving the lives of three people by donating three of her organs.

She is our hero.

Norah was last seen by family members only a couple of minutes prior to finding her in the water. After her death, we discovered that drowning can occur in as little as 20-60 seconds. We were also shocked and saddened to learn that drowning is the number one cause of death in children ages 1-4, and that 70% of drownings happen during non-swim time.

After over a year of merely surviving our grief, we decided we needed to turn our pain into purpose - thus Norah’s Waves was founded.
